Katherine joined the AAA-ICDR as Regional Vice President after more than a decade of litigating at prominent law firms in Chicago and as an AAA-ICDR arbitrator and mediator on commercial and employment cases for the past four years. Katherine also previously served in the City of Madison Mayor’s Office, further broadening her expertise in legal and governmental affairs. An active participant in several legal organizations, Katherine has been especially active in the Association of Attorney Mediators, the Coalition of Women’s Initiatives in the Law, and the Illinois State Bar Association’s ADR Section Council. Katherine holds a J.D. from the University of Wisconsin Law School and a B.A. in English Literature and Rhetoric and Composition from the University of Illinois.

Craig Nierman mediates and arbitrates commercial, tort, insurance, and healthcare cases.
A 25-year litigation veteran—representing both plaintiffs and defendants—he teaches arbitration law at the University of Iowa law school.
He previously managed claims for a Fortune 100 insurer and has published on business law topics, insurance arbitration, and the psychological aspects of mediation.
He is president of AAAA, participates in several ABA Sections, and belongs to the Order of the Coif.
